About

Homolovi State Park campground provides a base for exploring one of Arizona's most significant archaeological areas. "Homolovi" is Hopi for "Place of the Little Hills," and this 4,000-acre park protects ancestral pueblos that were inhabited during the late Hopi migration period of the 1200s-1300s. The campground sits at 4,900 feet on the high desert plateau, offering expansive views and dark skies. The campground features over 50 sites with a mix of electric and non-electric options. Most sites have electric (30 amp) and water hookups, while pull-through sites offer both 30 and 50 amp service for larger rigs. Nine designated non-electric sites and ten tent pads accommodate primitive campers. The facility includes modern accessible restrooms, hot showers, and a dump station, all included with your camping fee. Beyond camping, visitors can explore multiple hiking trails leading to archaeological sites, attend ranger programs, and visit the museum and gift shop in the visitor center. The park's location just off I-40 makes it a convenient stop for travelers, while its cultural significance and night sky viewing draw dedicated visitors year-round.
