Homolovi Campground

About

Homolovi Campground sits within Homolovi State Park, a 4,000-acre park on the banks of the Little Colorado River near Winslow, Arizona. The park preserves over 300 ancestral Puebloan archaeological sites that were inhabited by Hopi ancestors during the 14th century. The name 'Homolovi' is Hopi for 'place of the little hills.' The campground offers 53 total sites, with 45 designated RV sites that include electric and water hookups. Most sites have 30 amp service, while pull-through sites offer both 30 and 50 amp hookups. Nine sites are non-electric. The campground can accommodate large rigs up to 83 feet maximum length and features both back-in and pull-through configurations. Ten sites have dedicated tent pads. All campers have access to showers and a dump station. Homolovi State Park is the only public campground between Flagstaff and the New Mexico border, making it an ideal base camp for exploring the region including nearby Petrified Forest National Park and historic Route 66 attractions. The park features a visitor center with museum exhibits, hiking trails, birdwatching opportunities, and interpretive programs about the archaeological significance of the area. The park maintains close ties with the Hopi community, and archaeologists continue to study the sites in collaboration with tribal members.
