About
Yellow Pine Campground sits along Utah's Mirror Lake Scenic Byway at an elevation of 7,200 feet in the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah. The campground features 33 single sites situated among dense stands of pines and aspens, with Yellow Pine Creek running alongside the property. The forested setting provides excellent shade during summer months and beautiful fall colors when the aspens change.
The location serves as an excellent base for outdoor recreation. Several hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails begin nearby, including the Yellow Pine, North Fork, and Shingle Creek Trails. Off-road vehicle trails are in the vicinity, though ATVs are prohibited within the campground itself. The Lower Provo River lies below the campground and across the highway, offering good trout fishing for brown, brook, and rainbow trout. Upper Stillwater Reservoir and Lower Stillwater Ponds are also nearby, providing additional fishing opportunities.
Each site includes a picnic table, tent pad, and campfire ring with grill. The campground is unpaved and does not have a water system, so visitors must bring their own drinking water. Vault toilets are available during the operating season. This is not to be confused with the Yellowpine Campground on the southern slope of the Uinta Mountains near Rock Creek.
