About
Shingle Creek ATV Campground is located along the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway in the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah, an area renowned for abundant recreational opportunities and scenic beauty. Situated at 7,400 feet elevation among dense stands of shady pines and aspens, the campground provides beautiful fall color and comfortable summer temperatures. The facility features 21 single campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring.
This campground is specifically designed to accommodate ATV enthusiasts, with two ATV trails beginning directly from the campground. The area offers excellent access to backcountry riding opportunities. Beyond ATV use, the campground provides access to the Lower Provo River for trout fishing, and serves as a gateway to numerous hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails including the North Fork and Shingle Creek Trails. The campground's location along the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway makes it an ideal base camp for exploring the high Uinta Mountains.
The facility operates seasonally from late May through September, with reservations available through Recreation.gov. Sites accommodate up to 8 people and 1 vehicle, with additional vehicles charged $10. A 7-day stay limit applies during the operating season.
Directions
In Kamas, UT, at the intersection of State Rt. 32 (Main St.) and State Rt. 150 (Center St.), take Rt. 150 (Mirror Lake Scenic Byway) east 9.6 miles to the campground sign. Turn right into the campground.
