About
Located 35 miles from Evanston, Wyoming, just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, Wolverine ATV Trailhead Campground serves as a basecamp for off-road vehicle enthusiasts exploring the Uinta Mountains. The small 6-site campground sits among a thin forest of pine and aspen trees at high elevation, providing limited shade with summer wildflowers and grasses dotting the landscape.
The campground offers quick access to the Wolverine ATV Trail system with several interconnected loops for varied terrain and riding experiences. Christmas Meadows Trail, popular for hiking and horseback riding, begins just a few miles away. The nearby Stillwater Fork provides fly-fishing opportunities for cutthroat and brook trout. The Mirror Lake Scenic Byway offers access to numerous high alpine lakes, streams, and trails throughout the region, with the High Uintas Wilderness accessible from multiple trailheads.
This is a dry camp with no potable water available. Campers must bring all water needed for their stay. The access road is long, unpaved, and quite rocky, making it unsuitable for small vehicles. Sites accommodate up to 8 people and include picnic tables and fire rings. A vault restroom is available during the operating season. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, with some sites operating as first-come, first-served after mid-season.
