Beulah Vista Yurt

Open — The yurt is currently accessible, though nearby East Fork Bear River Trail and Left-Hand Fork Trail remain closed through December 1, 2028, due to hazardous trees from the 2025 Beulah Fire.

About

Beulah Vista Yurt is a spacious backcountry accommodation located in Summit County within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. As the newest and largest yurt operated by the Bear River Outdoor Recreation Alliance (BRORA), this 24-foot diameter yurt can comfortably sleep up to 12 people, making it ideal for larger groups seeking a winter backcountry experience. The yurt provides stunning views of Mount Beulah from its front door on clear days. Access to Beulah Vista Yurt requires skiing or hiking in with all necessary camping and cooking gear, offering visitors an authentic backcountry experience. The yurt is part of a network of backcountry yurts in the region designed for winter recreation. Reservations for the winter months are highly competitive due to the yurt's popularity and prime location in the Uinta Mountains. The area around the yurt has been affected by the 2025 Beulah Fire, with some nearby trails subject to long-term closure orders due to hazardous trees from fire damage.

Directions

From the East Fork Bear River trailhead, hike approximately 2.5 miles along the non-motorized East Fork Bench trail. The yurt is about a mile past the East Fork Yurt on the Lower East Fork Trail.
