About
Hayden Fork Campground is located at 8,800 feet elevation along the Hayden Fork River in the Uinta Mountains, 40 miles from Evanston, Wyoming. The campground sits just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway and features 9 first-come, first-served campsites nestled among a thin forest of pine and aspen trees with limited shade. Summer wildflowers and grasses dot the landscape, and several small beaver ponds surround the campground.
The Hayden Fork River flows just outside the campground, providing excellent fishing opportunities for anglers. The campground serves as a quiet base camp for exploring the surrounding Uinta Mountains, with access to High Uinta Wilderness hiking and backpacking trails nearby. ATV trail riding is also popular in the area, though ATVs must be licensed to travel on the highway.
Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. The campground offers vault toilet facilities and potable water during the operating season. A 14-day stay limit applies. Sites accommodate up to 8 people, and extra vehicle fees apply for additional vehicles beyond one per site.
