About

West Davis Lake Campground sits on the western shore of Davis Lake, a large shallow lake formed approximately 6,000 years ago when a lava flow blocked Odell Creek. The campground was damaged by the 2003 Davis Fire, which burned approximately 21,000 acres in the area, and has not been rebuilt. Davis Lake is renowned as one of the most popular fly-fishing-only lakes in the Pacific Northwest, producing trophy-size rainbow trout and largemouth bass. While the campground remains closed, a primitive boat launch at the West Davis Day Use Area provides access to the lake for day visitors. Campers seeking overnight accommodations at Davis Lake should consider East Davis Lake Campground, which offers 19 sites with vault toilets, potable water, and access to the same excellent fishing opportunities.
