About

Reservoir Campground is located next to Wickiup Reservoir along the Cascade Lakes Highway in Deschutes National Forest. The campground serves as a base for fishing, boating, canoeing, and swimming on this popular 11,200-acre reservoir. The reservoir's warm surface water and cooler deep channels create excellent fishing conditions for brown trout, kokanee and Coho salmon, rainbow and brook trout, whitefish and chub. The campground features 28 campsites with vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own. Each site includes a fire pit and table, with maximum spur lengths up to 125 feet accommodating various RV sizes. A boat launch is adjacent to the campground for easy water access. The surrounding landscape includes wetlands, diverse ponderosa and lodgepole pine forests, and rocky slopes that provide habitat for shorebirds, waterfowl, deer, bats, porcupine, and occasional black bears. The Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway provides access to numerous other lakes, trails, and wilderness areas. Newberry National Volcanic Monument is approximately 45 minutes away by vehicle.
