About
West South Twin Campground occupies a prime location on the shore of Wickiup Reservoir within the Deschutes National Forest, accessible via the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway. The 24 campsites are situated in a pine forest setting with some willows and sandy beach areas, offering direct access to both Wickiup Reservoir and nearby South Twin Lake. The reservoir's relatively warm surface water and cooler deep channels create exceptional fishing conditions. Brown trout regularly reach 5-8 pounds with specimens up to 20 pounds, and the waters also hold kokanee salmon, coho salmon, rainbow trout, brook trout, whitefish, and chub. A boat launch within the campground provides convenient access for anglers and recreational boaters. The campground features flush toilets and potable water from hand pumps when the water system is operational (typically May through September). Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs with a maximum length of 40 feet. All sites are back-in configuration with no hookups available.
