About

Washington Lake Group Campground is a high-elevation group camping destination situated at 10,000 feet on the shores of Washington Lake in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Located just off the scenic Mirror Lake Highway (State Highway 150), the campground provides access to one of Utah's premier alpine recreation areas. The five group sites are equipped with campfire circles, grills, picnic and serving tables, concrete site pads, and limited tent pads. Vault toilets and trash collection are provided, though campers must bring all their own drinking water as no potable water is available on site. The surrounding area offers excellent recreation opportunities. Washington Lake supports fishing for rainbow, brook, cutthroat, tiger, and albino trout, with canoeing and kayaking permitted (motorized boats prohibited). The popular Crystal Lake Trail departs from within the campground, and numerous additional hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails traverse the region. The pine forest provides limited shade, and summer wildflowers are abundant. Pets are allowed with a maximum of two dogs per site, kept on leashes no longer than six feet. Firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM, and the campground operates under strict food storage requirements due to bear activity in the area.
