About

Washington Lake Campground is a high-alpine destination at 10,000 feet elevation in Utah's Uinta Mountains, located just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway. The campground occupies the forested shores of Washington Lake, with pine trees providing shade and summer wildflowers dotting the landscape. Summer temperatures typically range from 50-85 degrees. The campground offers 41 single sites, 4 double sites, and multiple group sites accommodating 30 to 100 people. Sites feature picnic tables, fire rings, and concrete pads. Vault toilets are provided throughout. There is no potable water available, so campers must bring all water needed for their stay. This is bear country, and all food and trash must be properly secured. Washington Lake is stocked with rainbow, brook, cutthroat, tiger, and albino trout. Non-motorized boating including kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding is permitted. Motorized boats and ATVs are prohibited. The Crystal Lake Trail starts from the campground, connecting to numerous hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails throughout the region. The High Uintas Wilderness is accessible from several trailheads along the byway.
