Closed — Closed for the season. The campground typically reopens in June, dependent on snowmelt and road conditions. Highway 150 (Mirror Lake Scenic Byway) is closed during winter due to heavy snowfall.

About

Mirror Lake Campground is located at the base of 11,943-foot Bald Mountain on the shores of Mirror Lake at 10,400 feet elevation. The campground sits among white fir forest and features 70 single sites, 7 double sites, and 1 triple site. Sites 65-79 are equipped for equestrian use with hitching rails and feeding boxes. The campground serves as a gateway to the High Uintas Wilderness with access to trails leading to Bonnie Lake, Scudder Lake, Naturalist Basin, Fehr Lake, and Bald Mountain. Mirror Lake offers non-motorized boating opportunities for canoeing and kayaking, as well as fishing for rainbow trout. A gravel-surfaced interpretive nature trail circles the lake with educational displays about local flora and fauna. The scenic byway location provides stunning mountain views and access to numerous other alpine lakes and trails throughout the region. Summer temperatures typically range from 65-75 degrees during the day to 40-50 degrees at night.

Directions

From Salt Lake City, take I-80 east for 30 miles to Exit 146 for Highway 40. Go south on Highway 40 for approximately 13 miles and turn left onto UT Highway 32. Stay on UT-32 for 16 miles through Francis. Turn right onto Highway 150 (Mirror Lake Scenic Byway) in Kamas. Go 32 miles to campground. From Provo, take Highway 189 through Provo Canyon to Heber City, turn right onto UT Highway 32 at the north end of Heber, continue 16 miles to Kamas, then turn right onto Highway 150 and go 32 miles to campground.
