Shady Dell Campground is nestled along the curves of the Lower Provo River in the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah at 8,200 feet elevation. The campground is situated among dense stands of pine, fir, and aspen trees that provide ample shade during summer months and spectacular fall color. Thickets of willow line the riverbank, creating habitat for wildlife and scenic beauty. The Lower Provo River offers excellent trout fishing directly from the campground. Nearby Soapstone Basin features miles of exciting off-road vehicle trails suitable for riders of all skill levels. The campground's location on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway provides access to numerous hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails throughout the region, as well as multiple entry points into the High Uintas Wilderness. The byway itself leads to countless high alpine lakes and streams, breathtaking scenic viewpoints, and additional recreation areas. With 19 single sites and 1 double site, the campground accommodates both individual campers and larger groups. The 7-day stay limit ensures turnover during the busy summer season when the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway attracts visitors from across the region.

Directions

From Kamas, take Highway 150 (Mirror Lake Scenic Byway) east for 17 miles to the campground sign. Turn right into the campground. The campground is only accessible when Highway 150 is open, typically late May through late fall.
