The Ledge Group Sites offer premier group camping for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts exploring the backcountry routes near Moab. Located 10 miles from Moab along Kane Creek Road, these sites sit in a scenic red rock valley known for challenging four-wheel drive routes and spectacular views of the Colorado River and surrounding canyons. The area provides direct access to popular OHV routes including Hurrah Pass, making it a favorite basecamp for groups with motorcycles, ATVs, and four-wheel drive vehicles. Three group sites are available for reservation through Recreation.gov, accommodating groups of 15-40 people with fees ranging from $100-125 per night. Each site includes vault toilets, fire rings with grates, and picnic tables. The Ledge Group Site and Ledge E Group Site include shade shelters, while Ledge B is better suited for tent camping. No water, dump stations, or electrical hookups are available, so campers must come fully self-sufficient. Access to the campground requires navigating a steep switchback road with creek crossings on gravel and dirt surfaces, making it unsuitable for vehicles over 22 feet or those pulling long trailers. The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring nearby attractions including Kane Creek, Hunter Canyon, Amasa Back, and Moonflower Canyon. Due to hot summer temperatures and limited shade, the Ledge is best visited in spring and fall. The town of Moab, approximately 25 minutes away, provides dining, shopping, and outdoor recreation services.

Directions

From Moab, drive 10 miles west on Kane Creek Road. The group sites are on the left side of the road. Access requires navigating a steep switchback with creek crossings on gravel/dirt road.
