About
The Ledge Campgrounds offer 105 individual campsites spread across five separate campgrounds (A-E) in a scenic red rock valley approximately 8.5 miles from Highway 191 via Kane Creek Road. All individual sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis and can accommodate up to 10 people and two vehicles. Each site includes a parking pad, picnic table, and fire ring, with vault toilets and trash receptacles nearby. Three reservable group sites accommodate 15-30 people.
The area is particularly popular with ATV, UTV, and 4WD enthusiasts due to its proximity to numerous off-road trails including Hurrah Pass, Hunter Canyon, Amasa Back, and Moonflower Canyon. The campgrounds are most popular during spring and fall, as summer temperatures can be extreme with limited shade available throughout the sites.
Access requires driving on a gravel road with a steep switchback section and wash crossings. The campground offers basic amenities with vault toilets and trash service but no water, requiring campers to bring their own supply. The 14-night stay limit within a 30-day period allows extended exploration of the surrounding red rock canyons and trail systems.
Directions
From central Moab, turn west onto Kane Creek Boulevard. Continue straight at the stop sign. The road is paved for 4 miles, then becomes gravel (Kane Springs Road) with steep switchbacks and wash crossings. The campgrounds are approximately 8.5 miles from Highway 191.
