About
Hatch Point Campground offers a peaceful escape in Utah's Canyon Rims Recreation Area, perched on a mesa top with expansive views of the surrounding canyon country. Located 56 miles southwest of Moab via Highway 191 and a combination of paved and gravel roads, this Bureau of Land Management campground provides a truly remote camping experience. The journey to reach the campground includes approximately 15 miles on paved road followed by about 9 miles on a graveled road toward Anticline Overlook.
The campground features 10 individual campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, with each site limited to 10 people and two vehicles. Sites are equipped with parking pads, picnic tables, and fire rings, with vault toilets and trash receptacles conveniently located throughout the campground. The remote setting and lack of light pollution make Hatch Point an exceptional destination for stargazing. Nearby attractions include Anticline Overlook and various hiking opportunities in the surrounding mesa country. Campers should note that potable water is not available at the campground, so bringing adequate water supplies is essential.
