About

Gold Bar Group Sites offers four specialized group campsites positioned along the Colorado River in the scenic red rock canyon country near Moab, Utah. Designed for large gatherings such as school groups and family reunions, the sites accommodate between 30 and 90 people depending on the site selected. Sites A, B, and C feature shade shelters, while Site B includes a unique hammock structure. Site D lacks a shade shelter but is well-suited for groups with motorhomes. Each group area is equipped with fire grates, picnic tables, and vault toilets. The campground does not provide water, electric hookups, or dump stations, so campers must come prepared. Trailer and RV parking is limited as sites are primarily designed for tent camping. An on-site boat ramp provides direct access to the Colorado River for rafting, kayaking, and fishing. The location is exceptional for outdoor recreation. The Corona Arch trailhead sits directly across the road, offering a 1.5-mile hike to striking natural arches. Scenic Highway 279 runs along the river with numerous opportunities for hiking, biking, rock climbing, and four-wheel drive tours. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park, and the Manti-La Sal National Forest are all nearby. Downtown Moab is approximately 15 minutes away for dining, shopping, and additional services.

Directions

From Moab, drive five miles north on Highway 191 to the intersection with Highway 279. Turn left on Highway 279 and drive ten miles to the campground entrance road.
