About
King's Bottom Campground is a BLM-managed facility located along the banks of the Colorado River, nestled between massive canyon walls just 2 miles from downtown Moab. The campground offers 22 individual sites, including 13 walk-in only tent sites, all available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sites are limited to 10 people and two vehicles per site (a vehicle pulling a trailer counts as two vehicles).
The campground accommodates tents and small RVs only, making it ideal for those seeking a more intimate camping experience along the river. Each campsite includes a parking pad, picnic table, fire ring, and close proximity to vault toilets and trash receptacles. No water is available on-site, but Moab is only 2 miles away for supplies.
This location is extremely popular due to its proximity to Moab and world-class outdoor recreation including hiking trails, mountain biking, and 4WD/UTV roads. The campground provides direct access to the scenic Kane Creek corridor and serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the surrounding canyon country. Sites cost $20 per night (cash or check), with a 14-night stay limit within any 30-day period.
Directions
From the center of Moab (Center St. & Main St.), head south to Kane Creek Road. Turn right (west) on Kane Creek Road. At the stop sign, continue straight and drive 2 miles. The campground will be on your right, just past the Moab Rim Trailhead.
