About

Mill Hollow Campground occupies a forested hillside just below Mill Hollow Reservoir at 8,800 feet in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Dense stands of fir, lodgepole pine, and aspen provide substantial shade throughout most sites. The 27 campsites are divided between Loop A (12 sites) and Loop B (15 sites), with a mix of standard nonelectric and tent-only options. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill, with gravel roads and parking spurs throughout. Mill Hollow Reservoir offers rainbow and albino rainbow trout fishing, and the calm waters suit canoeing and kayaking. Two hiking trails depart from the campground: the 1-mile Lakeshore Trail circles the reservoir, while the 3-mile Mill Hollow Trail ventures deeper into the forest. Soapstone Basin, 8 miles north, provides designated dirt trails for OHV use and mountain biking, plus excellent birding. The campground has vault toilets and potable drinking water but no hookups, showers, or dump station. Pets are allowed on leash (maximum 2 dogs per site). A 7-day stay limit applies, with 2-night minimums on weekends and 3-night minimums on holiday weekends. This is bear country; all food and trash must be stored properly.

Directions

From Woodland, Utah, travel 12 miles southeast on State Highway 35. Turn onto Forest Road 054 and travel 2.8 miles to the campground entrance.
