About

Wolf Creek Campground is situated at 9,400 feet elevation on the summit of scenic Wolf Creek Highway in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The campground is nestled among dense stands of pine and aspen trees that offer plentiful shade, with colorful summer wildflowers filling nearby mountain meadows. The 3.5-mile Trail Hollow Trail begins directly in the campground and offers excellent hiking into the West Fork of the Duchesne, providing unparalleled views of the surrounding Wasatch Range. Wildlife is abundant in the area, and just 8 miles north, Soapstone Basin offers miles of designated dirt trails for off-road vehicle enthusiasts and mountain bikers along with excellent birding opportunities. This is an extremely rustic campground subject to heavy winter damage and early winters. State Route 35 closes for winter, making the campground inaccessible during the off-season. Visitors should be prepared to bring their own gear as facilities may be limited, and no water is available on-site.
