Rockport State Park

About

Rockport State Park sits at 6,000 feet elevation along the Weber River in Utah's Summit County. The 1,080-acre Rockport Reservoir, roughly three miles long and half a mile wide, serves as the centerpiece for camping, boating, fishing, and water sports. The park has been open to the public since 1966 and encompasses 770 acres of land. Six campgrounds offer over 100 sites: Juniper, Cottonwood, Crandall Cove, Twin Coves, Riverside, and Pinery. Juniper is the most developed with RV hookups and higher rates, while the others provide basic sites at lower prices. All campgrounds have water service, modern restrooms, and showers. A dump station is available on-site. Group camping areas are available at Hawthorne, Riverside, Crandall, and Lariat with varying capacities. In 2021, Rockport earned International Dark Sky Place certification, making it an excellent destination for stargazing. The park also features a 3D archery range and a historic Old Church. Wildlife includes mule deer, chipmunks, and jackrabbits. The park's proximity to Salt Lake City makes it accessible for weekend trips while still offering a natural escape.
