Jordanelle - Ross Creek

Closed — Ross Creek is a day-use area only and does not offer overnight camping. The area features 23 reservable picnic cabanas available May 1 through October 31. All Jordanelle State Park campgrounds are closed for the season as of October 31 and reopen May 1. Reservations for cabanas can be made up to 4 months in advance.

Ross Creek Recreation Area sits at the northern end of Jordanelle State Park along the shores of Jordanelle Reservoir in the Wasatch Mountains. Unlike the Hailstone and Rock Cliff areas, Ross Creek is exclusively a day-use facility and does not offer overnight camping. The area was recently upgraded with 23 reservable picnic cabanas, including 11 sand cabanas and 12 regular cabanas, each equipped with a covered picnic table and one reserved parking spot. Four cabanas are ADA-accessible. The Ross Creek Trailhead serves as a gateway to non-motorized recreation, featuring parking, CXT vault toilets, and hitching posts for equestrians. A non-motorized boat ramp provides exclusive access for kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and other human-powered watercraft, free from motorized vessel traffic. The area offers access to 3 miles of local loop trails plus the extensive Jordanelle Perimeter Trail, popular with hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. The north arm of the reservoir accessed from Ross Creek is known for premier bass fishing. Ross Creek operates seasonally from May 1 through October 31, with cabana reservations available up to 4 months in advance. The park entrance fee is $20 per vehicle, $10 for Utah residents 65 and older, or $5 for pedestrians and bicycles. Dogs are allowed on-leash. Park hours are 6 AM to 10 PM daily.

Directions

From Hideout, Utah, head east on State Route 248 for approximately 2 miles. Turn right onto the Ross Creek entrance road to access the campground.
