About

Rim Camp is one of two campgrounds within McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, positioned between the park's centerpiece 129-foot Burney Falls and the scenic Lake Britton. The campground is situated in an evergreen forest of the Cascade Range and offers a more intimate camping experience closer to the falls compared to the larger Pioneer campground. The park's volcanic landscape features porous basalt that creates underground springs feeding 100 million gallons of water daily over Burney Falls. Campers have access to five miles of hiking trails through the forest, including a section of the Pacific Crest Trail. Lake Britton provides opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and water sports. The campground includes ADA-accessible sites and cabins, with amenities including restrooms, token-operated showers, and a camp store operated by the park concessionaire. The park experiences high visitation from April through October, with the park often reaching capacity on summer weekends. Vehicle length is restricted to 32 feet maximum for both day use and camping. The campground operates primarily on a first-come, first-served basis between Labor Day and mid-May, with a six-month advance reservation system during peak season.

Directions
