About

Pit River Campground sits along the banks of the Pit River approximately five miles east of Fall River Mills in eastern Shasta County. Managed by the BLM Applegate Field Office, this compact campground provides a quiet basecamp for anglers, paddlers, and those seeking a low-key riverside experience. The eight individual campsites and one group site each feature picnic tables, metal fire rings, and barbecue pits. The recreation area includes an accessible fishing pier extending over the river and a kayak/raft launch ramp for paddlers looking to explore the Pit River corridor. Two wheelchair-accessible vault restrooms serve the campground. A campground host is typically on-site during the operating season. The campground operates seasonally from late May through October, closing November 1 for winter. All sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations accepted. Individual sites cost $8 per night and group camping is $12 per night. America the Beautiful, Senior, and Military passes are accepted. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive days.
