About
Deep Creek Campground was a primitive camping area located in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest in Shasta County, California. The campground has been permanently closed by the USFS and is no longer an active recreation site. Even when the campground was operational, it offered only basic primitive camping with no water, no restrooms, and no fees. The area's high elevation meant it typically only operated during a short summer season, generally from around July 4 through late October. The access road to the campground has been destroyed by storm damage, and the Forest Service has marked it as permanently closed. The campground is no longer listed among active camping facilities in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.
Directions
Big Bend Campground is located 3 miles up Poole Power Plant Road off Highway 120 in Lee Vining Canyon. The final section of the access road is well-graded dirt. Follow signs for Lee Vining Creek to reach the campground, nestled among a mature conifer forest.
