About

Potato Patch Campground is a developed Forest Service campground situated along scenic Deer Creek in the Lassen National Forest. The 32 campsites are shaded by towering pines and firs, providing a cool escape from the valley heat during summer months. The campground is conveniently located on Highway 32, approximately 43 miles east of Chico. Each campsite includes a picnic table and campfire ring. Some sites are equipped to accommodate RVs, and ADA accessible sites are available. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Potable water is available from faucets, and vault toilets serve the campground. Sites accommodate up to 8 people and 2 vehicles, with limited parking for additional vehicles. Deer Creek is renowned for excellent trout fishing, with special fishing regulations in effect. Anglers should consult the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for current regulations and stocking information. The campground's location along the creek and proximity to the Deer Creek Trailhead makes it a popular destination for fishing, hiking, and enjoying the cool forest environment.
