About

Elam Campground is a developed Forest Service campground nestled along upper Deer Creek at its confluence with Elam Creek in Lassen National Forest. At 4,400 feet elevation, the campground offers 15 designated sites, most of which can accommodate small to medium-sized RVs. Each site comes equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets are provided. The campground is a popular destination for stream anglers pursuing rainbow trout. Deer Creek is regularly stocked during summer months and is subject to California Department of Fish and Wildlife special regulations. Beyond fishing, visitors enjoy the scenic forest setting, local hiking trails, and mountain biking on nearby dirt roads. Elam operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a $14 per night fee payable upon arrival. Sites are limited to 8 people and 2 vehicles maximum. Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am. Dogs are allowed but must remain leashed at all times. Campfires are permitted only in provided fire rings; fireworks and tiki torches are prohibited.
