About

Elam Campground is a developed Forest Service campground located along upper Deer Creek at its confluence with Elam Creek in the Almanor Ranger District of Lassen National Forest. The campground features 15 designated sites, most of which can accommodate small to medium RVs. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring for comfortable outdoor living. The campground is particularly popular with anglers, as Deer Creek is regularly stocked with Rainbow Trout throughout the summer season. The creek provides excellent stream fishing opportunities right from the campground. Basic amenities include vault toilets, a hand pump for potable water, and trash collection. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of 8 people per site. Located just 2 miles south of Highway 36 on Highway 32, the campground is easily accessible from Chico (55 miles east on Highway 32). The facility operates seasonally, typically from late spring through fall, with winter closures due to snow and cold weather conditions.
