About
True to its name, Hole-in-the-Ground Campground is nestled in a steep, heavily forested draw alongside Mill Creek in the Almanor Ranger District of Lassen National Forest. The campground sits at approximately 4,300 feet elevation and offers a secluded, shaded setting with 13 designated campsites. Each site accommodates up to 8 people and includes a picnic table and fire ring. Facilities include vault toilets and potable drinking water available from a hand pump. There are no hookups, showers, or dump stations. Due to the narrow access road and site configurations, only shorter travel trailers are recommended. The campground provides access to Mill Creek for fishing and connects to the Mill Creek Trail for hiking. Quiet hours are observed from 10pm to 6am. Dogs are allowed but must remain leashed at all times.
