About

Alder Creek Campground is a small, semi-developed campground situated along the banks of beautiful Deer Creek in Lassen National Forest. With only 6 designated sites, this intimate campground offers a quiet retreat for campers seeking a more secluded experience. Located approximately 20 miles southwest of Chester on Highway 32 at an elevation of 3,900 feet, the campground provides easy access while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets available. Campers should note that no potable water is available on-site, so bringing an adequate supply is essential. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations, charging a modest $10 per night fee. Sites are limited to one vehicle and eight people per site, with pets allowed on leash. The location provides excellent opportunities for fishing in Deer Creek and enjoying scenic views of the surrounding forest. The campground's small size and limited development make it ideal for campers who prefer a more primitive experience while still having basic amenities like tables and fire rings. Generally open through Labor Day weekend, the campground offers a classic national forest camping experience in the beautiful Lassen region.
