Pine Point Campground offers a forested lakeside camping experience along the McCloud Arm of Shasta Lake within the Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area. The campground operates under a unique dual-use system, functioning as either individual family campsites available on an as-needed basis through the Shasta Recreation Company concessionaire, or as a group campground available for reservation. All campsites feature picnic tables, grills, fire rings, tent pads, bear boxes, and paved parking spurs, situated beneath oak and pine trees. The campground provides vault toilets and drinking water from faucets during the operating season. The nearest public boat ramp is located 4 miles south at Hirz Bay, though boats can be brought to the campground itself for convenient lake access. Shasta Lake is renowned for its 365 miles of shoreline and excellent fishing opportunities for trout, catfish, Chinook salmon, crappie, bluegill, white sturgeon, brown bullhead, and bass. The surrounding Shasta-Trinity National Forest offers extensive hiking opportunities, and the nearby Hirz Mountain Lookout provides panoramic views of Mount Shasta, Mount Lassen, and the surrounding landscape. The campground is located along Gilman Road, approximately 20 miles east of Interstate 5.

Directions

From I-5, take exit 698 Salt Creek/Gilman Road. Turn right at end of off ramp and follow Gilman Road east approximately 20 miles to the campground entrance.
