About
Pine Point Campground is situated along the scenic McCloud Arm of Shasta Lake, offering campers access to one of California's premier boating and fishing destinations. The campground accommodates both tent and RV campers with paved parking spurs, though trailer length is limited to an average maximum of 24 feet. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill, tent pad, and bear box for food storage. Shasta Lake provides excellent opportunities for power boating, water skiing, and fishing for trout, bass, catfish, Chinook salmon, crappie, and bluegill. Nearby lakeside resorts offer boat rentals and fuel. The Hirz Mountain Lookout, accessible from the area, provides panoramic views of Mt. Shasta, Mt. Lassen, and the surrounding wilderness. Be aware that poison oak is abundant in the area, and bear-proof food storage is required.
Directions
From I-5, take exit 698 (Salt Creek/Gilman Road). Turn right at the end of the off-ramp and follow Gilman Road east approximately 20 miles to the campground entrance.
