Hirz Cabin offers a unique lodging experience in Shasta-Trinity National Forest, perched on a hilltop overlooking the scenic McCloud Arm of Shasta Lake. The cabin features 3 bedrooms (2 upstairs, 1 downstairs), 2 full bathrooms, a complete kitchen with dining table, and a large deck perfect for taking in views of the surrounding manzanita and oak woodland. Two queen beds and two twin beds accommodate up to 6 guests, though no bedding is provided. The property includes laundry facilities and parking space for one boat with tow vehicle plus four additional cars. The nearest boat launch at Hirz Bay is approximately one mile away, making this an ideal base for water activities including boating, fishing, and water skiing. Lake Shasta offers excellent fishing for trout, bass, catfish, Chinook salmon, and more. Hikers can access the 2-mile Hirz Bay Trail nearby. Due to vandalism, the solar power system no longer provides general electricity, so outlets, fans, and lights are not operational. However, the propane-powered refrigerator, oven, and hot water heater remain functional. There is no air conditioning or WiFi. Poison oak is abundant in the area.

From Redding, CA, remain on I-5 to Gilman Road. From the north, take Salt Creek exit to Gilman Road. Take Gilman Road east for 11 miles to the entrance of Hirz Bay. Address: 100 Hirz Bay Rd., Lakehead, CA 96051.
