About
Mill Creek Guard Station is a historic Forest Service facility available for public rental in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Located in Mill Creek Canyon near Salt Lake City, the guard station sits approximately 3 miles from the canyon mouth with parking available on the north side of the road. This cabin provides visitors with a unique recreational experience, allowing them to stay in an authentic piece of Forest Service history while exploring the surrounding national forest lands. As a guard station rental rather than a traditional campground, this facility offers a different type of overnight experience. The structure served as housing for Forest Service personnel who managed and protected the forest, and today it provides an opportunity for visitors to experience a piece of that heritage. Access to the guard station is via a driveway located at the west end of a designated parking area.
Directions
From the mouth of Mill Creek Canyon, travel up the canyon for approximately 3 miles to a parking area on the north side of the road. The driveway to the guard station is located at the west end of the parking area.
