Marion Forks Campground sits adjacent to the Marion Forks Fish Hatchery, 16 miles southeast of Detroit, Oregon in Willamette National Forest. This 15-site campground includes one pull-through site and provides a quiet retreat from the highway. Each site includes a picnic table, with vault toilets available but no potable water. A paved 1/4-mile loop trail along Marion Creek offers a leisurely stroll through the picnic area and fish hatchery, where visitors can learn about spring Chinook salmon and the area's history. For hikers, Forest Service Road 2255 provides access to Trail #3431 leading to Independence Rock, while the road's end reaches the Marion Lake Trailhead (Trail #3436) into the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness. The campground operates year-round on a weather-dependent basis with first-come, first-served sites only. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out at 1:00 p.m. Chainsaws are prohibited, and dogs must remain on a leash no longer than 6 feet.

Directions

From Detroit, Oregon, travel southeast on Highway 22 for 16 miles to Marion Forks. Turn left at the Marion Forks Fish Hatchery sign. The campground is located behind the Fish Hatchery.
