About
Big Meadows Horse Camp sits at 3,600 feet in the Willamette National Forest along Forest Service Road 2267, offering equestrian campers a well-equipped staging area for exploring the surrounding backcountry. The campground features 9 sites that accommodate vehicles and trailers up to 36 feet, with 6 sites reservable through Recreation.gov and 3 available first-come, first-served via the Scan and Pay system. Each campsite is designed for horse camping with a 4-stall corral or highline, hitching rack, and picnic table. The campground provides a shared loading ramp and stock water trough. Potable water is available via hand pump, and two single-vault toilets serve the facility. Several loop trails radiate from the campground into the forest, including Duffy Lake Trail, Big Meadows Loop Trail, and Big Meadows Tie Trail, providing access to the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness.
