About
Located deep in the interior forests of Shannon County, Loggers Lake Campground occupies the southeast shore of 22-acre Loggers Lake, a spring-fed fishery constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1942. The campground features 14 non-electric sites with lake views through light vegetation, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, and some with lantern posts. A memorial to the CCC is located in the campground. The lake is maintained as a quiet fishery offering good angling for large-mouth bass, sunfish, and channel catfish. Only boats with electric motors are permitted. The day use area includes a small swim beach, boat ramp, barrier-free fishing pier, picnic tables, and grills. Several springs feed the lake basin, maintaining cooler water temperatures ideal for fishing. The campground provides vault toilets and centrally located drinking water during the operating season. A 2.7-mile loop trail begins and ends at the campground. Access is via gravel forest roads with rough patches; high clearance vehicles are recommended. Cash or check payment required.
