About

Sinking Creek Campground sits at the confluence of Sinking Creek and the Current River in Ozark National Scenic Riverways, roughly 14 miles north of Eminence on Highway 19. This backcountry campground is extremely popular during summer months, drawing thousands of visitors who come for the large gravel bar that offers easy access to both waterways. Sinking Creek's spring-fed waters run cooler while the Current River provides warmer swimming. The campground has 8 standard non-electric sites, each accommodating up to 6 people. All sites include picnic tables, fire rings, and lantern posts. A vault toilet restroom is available year-round. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. RVs and trailers up to 45 feet can be accommodated via gravel drive-in, back-in sites. Nearby attractions include Round Spring, Echo Bluff State Park, and several hiking trails. The riverfront location makes this an ideal base for multi-day float trips on the Current River.

Directions

From Eminence, drive north on Highway 19 for approximately 14 miles. After crossing the bridge over Sinking Creek, take the first left. A short gravel road (about 600 feet) leads to the campground. Most vehicles can handle the gravel access road.
