Echo Bluff State Park Campground
Open year-round. Restrooms and showerhouse available year-round; showers operate April 1 through October 31. Water at individual campsites is seasonal (April through October); two frost-free spigots provide potable water year-round. Active advisories for tick awareness and firewood restrictions. Reservations available up to 12 months in advance via Missouri State Parks reservation system. Camping limited to 15 days within any 30-consecutive-day period.
About
Echo Bluff State Park's Timbuktu Campground provides a modern camping experience in the heart of Missouri's Ozark highlands. The 476-acre park centers on Echo Bluff and Sinking Creek, a crystal-clear stream that ranks as the second-largest tributary to the Current River. Hillsides draped in oak, hickory, and shortleaf pine surround the campground. The campground features twelve walk-in tent sites (utility carts available for gear transport), plus electric/water and full-hookup sewer/electric/water sites with 50-amp electric available. Every site includes a fire ring or grill, picnic table, and lantern post. The centrally located showerhouse with restrooms stays open year-round, though showers operate only April 1 through October 31. A dump station serves RV campers. Beyond camping, the park connects to over 62,000 acres of the Roger Pryor Pioneer Backcountry for hiking. Sinking Creek offers smallmouth bass fishing, while nearby Montauk State Park provides trout fishing. Swimming and wading areas along the creek round out the recreational options.
