Ken's Lake Group Sites
Closed — Closed for the winter season. Reservations available through Recreation.gov up to 6 months in advance.
About
Ken's Lake Group Sites are managed by the BLM Moab Field Office and provide two dedicated group camping areas ideal for those seeking proximity to Moab while maintaining distance from busy highways. Group Site A accommodates up to 40 people and includes horse corrals for equestrian camping, while Group Site B accommodates up to 25 people. Both sites feature fire grates, picnic tables, and shade shelters. Situated near Ken's Lake reservoir, campers have easy access to swimming, paddle-boarding, limited boating (electric motors only), and fishing. A short hike from the group sites leads to the lake or to a man-made waterfall fed by Mill Creek. Hiking and 4WD trails are accessible directly from the campground, allowing exploration of the surrounding red rock canyons and desert landscape with stunning views of the Moab Valley and La Sal Mountains. The location is approximately 8 miles south of Moab on Highway 191, making it convenient for visiting nearby attractions including Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Hovenweep and Natural Bridges National Monuments, and the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Moab offers dining, shopping, equipment rentals, tour operators, and additional services about 15-20 minutes away.
Directions
From Moab, drive south on Highway 191 for approximately 8 miles until you see signs for Ken's Lake. Turn left off the highway and follow signs to the lake. The campground is just beyond the turn to the lake. Group Site A is in the first campground loop and Site B is in the second loop.
