Masons Draw Campground

Closed

The campground is seasonally closed due to snow. Typically opens in June and operates through October, weather permitting. Access depends on La Sal Mountain Loop Road conditions.

About

Masons Draw Campground sits at elevation along the La Sal Mountain Loop Road in Utah's Manti-La Sal National Forest, approximately 5 miles south of the Warner Lake turnoff and just past the Castle Valley Overlook. The campground provides access to the dramatic alpine scenery of the La Sal Mountains while remaining conveniently close to Moab's desert attractions. This basic Forest Service campground offers 5 first-come, first-served sites for $10 per night. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table, with vault toilets serving the campground. No potable water is available, so campers should arrive fully supplied. The campground operates seasonally, typically June through October, with access dependent on snow and road conditions along the La Sal Loop Road. The setting makes an excellent base for exploring the high country trails and enjoying cooler temperatures during the hot summer months when the Moab area below can exceed 100°F.

Directions

From Moab, go south on US 191 about 7 miles to the Ken's Lake/La Sal Mountain Loop Road turnoff and turn left. Turn right at the T-intersection less than a mile ahead and continue on La Sal Loop Road for approximately 18 miles, passing both Oowah Lake and Warner Lake campground turnoffs. Masons Draw Campground is about 5 miles past the Warner Lake turnoff on the right side, just after Castle Valley Overlook.
