Mason Draw Campground is a small, primitive camping area offering 5 first-come, first-served campsites in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Located just off the La Sal Loop Road near the Castle Valley Overlook, the campground provides a peaceful setting in the La Sal Mountains with basic amenities for tent and small vehicle camping. Each of the 5 campsites includes a picnic table and campfire ring. The campground is equipped with vault toilets but does not provide water, so visitors must bring an adequate supply. The setting is ideal for campers seeking a more primitive experience away from developed campgrounds, with moderate usage levels throughout the operating season. The campground is accessed via the La Sal Loop Road, approximately 18 miles from the Ken's Lake turnoff on US 191 south of Moab. Sites are available for $10 per night, with a 50% discount for holders of Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes. Payment by cash or check is required. The remote location provides opportunities for stargazing and experiencing the natural mountain environment.

Directions

From Moab, go south on US 191 about 7 miles to the Ken's Lake/La Sal Mountain Loop Road turnoff and turn left. Turn right at the T-intersection less than a mile ahead and continue on the La Sal Loop Road for approximately 18 miles past both Oowah Lake and Warner Lake campground turnoffs. Mason Draw Campground is about 5 miles from the Warner Lake turnoff on the right side of the La Sal Loop Road just after the Castle Valley Overlook.
