About

Hull Cabin offers a unique opportunity to stay in Arizona's oldest surviving historic structure near the Grand Canyon. Originally constructed as a one-room homestead by the Hull family in the late 1880s using hand-hewn logs, the cabin was acquired by the U.S. Forest Service in 1907 for use as a ranger station. Today it serves as part of Arizona's Rooms with a View cabin rental program. The cabin accommodates up to six guests and includes a bedroom with two sets of twin bunk beds, a queen-sized futon in the living room, and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, refrigerator/freezer, dishes, utensils, and cookware. Heat is provided by a wood stove. A separate shower house contains a vault toilet and two shower stalls with solar attachments, though guests must bring their own bladder bags. Water is hauled to the site, so conservation is encouraged. Located in the Tusayan Ranger District approximately 16 miles east of Tusayan via Forest Roads 302/310/307, or accessible through Grand Canyon National Park (requires park entrance fee). The area provides access to multiple recreational activities including hiking trails, fishing at nearby tanks, sightseeing, and wildlife viewing.
