About

Dead Horse Point State Park campground occupies one of Utah's most spectacular locations, perched 2,000 feet above a dramatic gooseneck bend in the Colorado River. The mesa-top setting provides sweeping views of Canyonlands National Park and the La Sal Mountains, making it a prime destination for photography, stargazing, and desert exploration. The park operates two campgrounds. Kayenta Campground offers 21 sites nestled within a juniper grove, all equipped with 20/30/50 AMP electrical hookups, lighted shade structures, picnic tables, fire rings, and tent pads. Wingate Campground features 31 sites: 20 with electrical hookups accommodating RVs up to 56 feet, plus 11 more secluded hike-in tent-only sites. Both campgrounds have flush restrooms with running water and dishwashing sinks. A dump station is located at the Wingate Campground entrance. Beyond camping, the park features nearly 30 miles of singletrack mountain bike trails and 8 miles of hiking paths. The visitor center offers WiFi, a gift shop, and serves as the starting point for ranger programs. The park's designation as an International Dark Sky Park makes it exceptional for night sky viewing.
