About
Harris Trailhead / Horse Camp is a primitive equestrian access point situated in the Fremont-Winema National Forest of south-central Oregon. The site serves as a staging area for horseback riders exploring the surrounding forest lands in Lake County. This is a minimally developed trailhead with no amenities. There is no potable water, no restrooms, and no other facilities. Visitors must be fully self-sufficient, bringing their own water supply and packing out all waste. The rustic nature of this site makes it suitable for experienced backcountry horse campers who are comfortable with primitive conditions. No fees are required to use the site. Camping is dispersed and first-come, first-served. As with all National Forest lands, standard regulations apply including fire restrictions when in effect and Leave No Trace principles.
