The campground's primary season runs May 15 through October 15. Reduced services are available outside this window, though winter access may be limited by snow. First-come, first-served. 14-day stay limit.
Alcohol Prohibitions

About
Thompson Reservoir Campground offers a peaceful camping experience on the western shore of Thompson Reservoir in Oregon's Fremont-Winema National Forest. The campground sits at the base of Hager Mountain, providing scenic views across the three-square-mile reservoir. Nineteen spacious campsites spread beneath mature ponderosa pines accommodate both tent and RV campers. Amenities include picnic tables and fire rings at each site, three vault toilets, and potable water available from a hand pump. A boat launch provides access to the reservoir when water levels permit. Thompson Reservoir is stocked with rainbow trout annually, making it a popular destination for anglers. Non-motorized boating and swimming are also available. The campground is located across the reservoir from East Bay Campground, offering an alternative option in the same area. Access is via Forest Road 27 south from Silver Lake, then Forest Road 2700-287 to the campground.
Directions
From Silver Lake, take Oregon Highway 31 west for approximately 1 mile, then turn left onto County Highway 4-11 (Marsh Road). County Highway 4-11 becomes Forest Road 27. Travel south approximately 14 miles, then turn left onto Forest Road 2700-287. The campground is at the end of the road.
