About

The Historic Diamond Fork Guard Station is a rustic Forest Service cabin rental built in 1933 and located in Diamond Fork Canyon within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Situated 26 miles from Spanish Fork, Utah, this remote cabin provides a unique backcountry lodging experience. The guard station accommodates up to 6 people with beds for 6 adults, and allows 2 vehicles plus 1 utility trailer for hauling OHVs. The cabin is equipped with a cooking stove, wood burning stove for heat, kitchen area with dry sink, and basic furniture. A propane heater is available during winter months (December 15 to March 1). There is no water on site and no restroom facilities inside the guard station, though a separate bathroom building is available. Renters must bring all supplies including food, water, toilet paper, firewood, cookware, sleeping bags, and battery-powered lighting (no open flames allowed inside). The dry sink has no disposal system, so no solids can go down the drain. The area offers numerous recreation opportunities including OHV access and outdoor exploration in Diamond Fork Canyon. Reservations require a 2-night minimum stay at $50 per night, with stays up to 7 consecutive days allowed (only 1 weekend per reservation). No smoking is permitted inside or outside the guard station.

Directions

From Spanish Fork, travel up Highway 6 for 26 miles. Take Diamond Fork Road (Forest Road 029) off Highway 6, follow Diamond Fork Road to Springville Crossing. Take Forest Road 058 north to the guard station.
