About

Balsam Campground occupies a scenic stretch of Hobble Creek Canyon within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, roughly 12 miles from Springville at an elevation of 6,000 feet. Fir, maple, and cottonwood trees provide shade and privacy between sites, with Hobble Creek running alongside the campground. The creek supports rainbow and brown trout fishing. The campground has 23 single-family sites and 2 group sites (one accommodating up to 24 people, another up to 100). Each site has a concrete pad under the picnic table and a campfire ring with benches. Vault toilets are provided. Maximum vehicle length is 35 feet for RVs and trailers. Recreational options include fishing Hobble Creek and hiking nearby trails. Deer Springs Trail (1 mile) begins at the top of the campground. Left Fork Days Canyon Trail and Kirkman Hollow Trail, accessible from nearby Cherry Campground, accommodate hiking, biking, horseback riding, and dirt biking.

Directions

From I-15, take exit 260 (Springville). Head east through Springville on 400 South. At the four-way stop where 400 South ends, turn right onto Canyon Road and continue east. After passing Hobble Creek Golf Course (about 6 miles), the road forks; stay right on Right Fork Hobble Creek Road. Continue approximately 6 miles past the junction of Forest Roads 132 and 058, then turn right on Forest Road 062 to the campground entrance.
