About

Balsam Campground is nestled along the banks of Hobble Creek in Hobble Creek Canyon, just 12 miles from Springville, Utah, at an elevation of 6,000 feet. The campground is surrounded by maple, fir, and cottonwood trees that provide partial shade, stunning fall colors, and privacy between campsites. Hobble Creek flows through the property, offering excellent rainbow and brown trout fishing opportunities. The area provides access to numerous trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Deer Springs Trail begins at the top of the campground and is one mile long. Dry Canyon and Wardsworth Canyon Trails are nearby, with trailheads within a mile of the campground. Left Fork Days Canyon Trail and Kirkman Hollow Trail can be accessed at the nearby Cherry Campground. The paved Hobble Creek Road ends 8 miles up canyon, and scenic driving continues beyond for off-road vehicles. Campsites feature concrete pads under picnic tables, and the campground includes both individual sites and group sites accommodating up to 100 people. The narrow, tree-tunneled Hobble Creek Road winds through steep mountains, with opportunities for exploration around nearly every turn.

Directions

From I-15 south, take exit 260 in Springville. Merge onto W 400 S, then take the first exit at the traffic circle onto S Canyon Drive. Continue on Hobble Creek Canyon Road. After passing Hobble Creek Golf Course, stay right on Right Fork Hobble Road. Continue 6 miles past the junction of Forest Roads 132 and 058, staying on Forest Road 058, then turn right on Forest Road 062 to the campground entrance.
