About

Dalton Springs Campground is a quiet, forested retreat in Utah's Abajo Mountains within the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Situated at 8,200 feet elevation in a grove of aspen and Gambel oak, the campground offers 16 first-come, first-served sites at $20 per night. Amenities include vault toilets, seasonal potable water, and picnic tables at each site. The campground serves as a basecamp for exploring the surrounding area. Multiple trails and forest roads provide opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, OHV use, and horseback riding. Wildlife including mule deer and black bears inhabit the area. Popular day trips from the campground include Newspaper Rock State Historical Monument, the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, and Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum in Blanding.

Directions

From Monticello, turn west onto 200 West/Abajo Drive/County Road 101/Forest Service Road 49 and continue approximately 4.5 miles. The campground is on the left.
