About
The Superbowl Group Site at Superbowl Campground is designed for larger groups seeking to explore the Indian Creek area of Bears Ears National Monument. Located approximately 6.5 miles southeast of Canyonlands National Park and 13.5 miles northwest of Newspaper Rock, this group site occupies the northeastern corner of the campground and can accommodate 10 to 30 people with space for approximately 10 vehicles.
The site includes picnic tables, a fire ring, vault toilets, and a shade structure, with space for both tents and trailers. The campground sits near the banks of Indian Creek, which has intermittent flow and is typically dry except during spring or after precipitation. Cottonwood trees along the creek provide shade at some areas of the campground.
The Indian Creek area has gained international recognition for extraordinary rock climbing opportunities on Wingate Sandstone cliffs. The broad valley is rimmed by dramatic geologic features including Lavender Mesa, Bridger Jack Mesa, and North and South Six Shooter Peaks. Beyond climbing, visitors enjoy camping, cultural resource viewing, scenic photography, and off-highway vehicle touring on designated routes. The area is generally primitive and undeveloped with few services and no drinking water available at the campground.
Directions
Turn west off U.S. Route 191 onto Utah State Route 211 and travel approximately 25.8 miles. Turn onto County Road 0574 on the south side of the highway. The campground is located 0.25 miles down the natural surface road.
