Lodgepole Campground is situated in scenic Daniels Canyon at an elevation of 7,800 feet, just 15 miles east of Heber City on Highway 40. The campground is nestled along Daniels Creek in a beautiful mountain setting surrounded by pine, fir, and aspen forest, with willows lining the creek bank and summer wildflowers dotting the landscape. The campground is divided into two loops. Loop A contains individual campsites, while Loop B features two group camping sites accommodating up to 50 and 130 people respectively, along with group picnic shelters. Daniels Creek runs through the area and is regularly stocked with rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout, providing excellent fishing opportunities right from the campground. The Foreman Hollow Trail begins directly from the campground, offering an easy to moderate 4-mile loop hike with exceptional views of Strawberry Reservoir, Strawberry Peak, and Twin Peaks. Strawberry Reservoir is located 12 miles away and provides additional recreation opportunities including boating, canoeing, and extensive fishing. The Strawberry OHV Trail System offers 75 miles of trails for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts, hikers, and mountain bikers. The Strawberry Visitor Center features interpretive displays, a working fish trap and egg collection station, and a nature trail.

Directions

From Heber City, Utah, take Highway 40 east for 15 miles. Campground is on the right side of the highway.
