Closed — Closed for the season. Opens Memorial Day weekend and operates through Columbus Day. Select sites are reservable at least 4 days in advance via Recreation.gov.

Special Weather Statement issued December 29 at 1:04PM EST by NWS Burlington VT

December 29th, 1:04 PM — 1:00 AM

Temperatures will quickly drop below freezing this afternoon and evening. This will lead to any untreated surfaces quickly freezing. Sacttered snow showers could quickly coat roads. Use caution if driving or walking. Increasing winds this afternoon and evening could cause isolated power outages due to lingering ice loading on trees and powerlines. Wind chills below zero tonight will affect anyone still without power or outside.

About

Moosalamoo Campground is a small, remote campground nestled at the base of Mt. Moosalamoo near Voter Brook in the heart of the 16,000-acre Moosalamoo National Recreation Area. The campground features 19 irregularly spaced sites along a wooded loop set among sugar maple, American beech, yellow birch and other hardwoods, with ample ferns and wildflowers providing natural beauty, shade and privacy. A large mowed grass field in the center of the loop offers space for group activities, especially for families with children. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and parking spur with space for two vehicles. The campground provides three barrier-free vault toilets, hand-pump drinking water, and trash/recycling service. Two hiking trails, Mt. Moosalamoo and Voter Brook, connect directly to the campground loop. Less than a mile down the road is Voter Brook Overlook, featuring a picnic area and accessible path to a western vista. The Moosalamoo National Recreation Area offers over 70 miles of well-maintained trails for hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, and snowmobiling, along with opportunities for kayaking, swimming, fishing, and hunting at numerous mountain vistas, waterfalls, lakes and streams throughout the area.
